Best tips to prepare for Admission test: 

   Most of the Colleges organise the entrance/Aptitude test in a three round session. These are Practical test, Theoretical test and a interview session. Students passing higher secondary education are eligible for admission to BFA course. Final selection of the candidate is done on the basis of qualifying exam scores and marks obtained in the Entrance/Aptitude test,conducted by the College. For practical test,the subjects are Still life, head study, Composition, life Drawing etc, and for Theory test the question making from history of Art, Aesthetics,Contemporary art,General knowledge etc.

For admission to MFA,the candidates will be required to appear before an Assessment Committee along with a portfolio of practical work and for Viva of the programme of study submitted with the Application form.Candidates with experience in their subject of interest will be preferred. They must submit a proposal report on their preferred specialisation using visuals, slides etc. indicating the intent to join the course.

 prepare a Portfolio :

Everybody knows that an extraordinary portfolio is essential when applying for Art Colleges. Your portfolio will not only communicate the technical skills,but also inspire it's viewers.

When you get your interview date and time,make sure you thoroughly read the guidelines. The guidelines will tell you if you have any paperwork to complete and submit with your Portfolio.
The interview usually lasts around 10 minutes and gives you an opportunity to talk about your work and why you want to study this college.You will have to chance to talk about your interests and ambitions and ask questions.You will be nervous but try to relax as much as you can.
Example questions may include:

Tell about your favourite piece of work in your     portfolio?
Why do you want to study this subject?
Which Contemporary artist are you interested in and why?
What is your future plans after pass out?

Be sure you understand what the admission committee is looking for, you might explain how you match their goals as an institution,or how you agree with the colleges mission statements.
